ElectroVesna-2021 in Letovo

Inspired by the ‘ElectroVesna-2021’ campaign taking place all over Russia, our sustainable development work group encouraged students and staff to perform a search through their dorms and offices and give up the electronics that they do not use – broken lamps, monitors, printers and all other items powered by electricity or batteries.
The results were truly staggering – not only did the box intended for the electronics fill up in a matter of hours, but very soon a large area of the second floor was piled with monitors, teapots and other miscellaneous items that students and teachers brought from their houses and offices.
The next step is taking the electronics collected at school to a special metal recycling plant as a part of our Field Trip Day. There, they will show how the useless items are picked apart and turned into components for new devices. This way, Letovo students see how their initiative can help the electronics market be more sustainable, and the resources of the planet be used wisely.
