Today, on the first Tuesday of December, we celebrate Giving Tuesday: The Global Generosity Day. The topic of generosity and charity is especially important for our school. Letovo was created as a philanthropic non-profit project, the existence of which depends largely on donations from benefactors and endowment contributions, and we believe it is important to convey to our students the desire to help others, to share knowledge and resources. One of the five obligatory Letovo development programmes — they include thematic groups, clubs, associations, projects — is called Social and Civic Responsibility. During their education all Letovo students must actively take part in this program, supporting their verbal statements with useful doings. Many excellent charity foundations have cooperated with the school. Their employees visit us, give lectures, conduct workshops, and involve our students in systemic charity. The projects of our 10th graders this academic year include developing a computer literacy manual for the elderly, creating posters on separate waste collection and social advertising for charitable foundations, and making toys for children with mental disabilities. The life of our school and contribution to its future is important and valuable. On the photo: last year December charity market at Letovo. All funds raised by that event went to the Old Age for Joy Charity Foundation. This year, we are also hosting a market for our students and teachers to support Nochlezhka Charity Organisation.
